Past Events - 2009 - Koala Awards 2009

K.O.A.L.A. (Kids Own Australian Literature Awards) is an organisation provided for children to have a voice in the books they read. Every child at our school is involved in the nomination process at the beginning of the year and their votes are sent to KOALA. They are then involved in voting from the shortlist in September.

The winners were announced at the awards ceremony held at Parramatta Town Hall on 27^th October. The winners were “Rex” by Ursula Dubosarsky, Zac Power Series by H I Larry , “Garden of the Purple Dragon” by Carole Wilkinson and “Wizard of Rondo” by Emily Rodda over the 4 categories.

Judging by the emotional acceptance speech by the winners, it indicates how much it means to them to have the support of their readers.

Our thanks to Mrs Gleeson for ensuring that our students got to enjoy such an exciting event. Have a look at the joy on their faces!
