A Farewell to Peter McInnes
A true gentleman and teacher of olde!
Have a read and a look at the farewell we gave Mr McInnes.
There was a lovely crowd of parents, staff and students at school on Friday afternoon to officially farewell Mr Peter McInnes.
It was an afternoon of celebration for a true gentleman who, in moving onto his new phase of life, is sadly
missed. Peter has written a note to us all and I will leave the final words to him, other than to say
once again, thank you Peter for all that you have done for us here at Austinmer, and to wish you the very best for the future.

Retirement Afternoon Tea - A Great Memory
I was more than overwhelmed last Friday to attend my retirement afternoon tea to say goodbye and thanks to the many parents and students I have had the pleasure to meet and work with during my time at Austi. The Library looked fantastic in its' Chess theme and the food was terrific.
After receiving my Retirement medal from Mr Petersen, I was stunned when Mr Taylor presented me with a plaque showing a garden had been named after me. That concept is fantastic. Thanks Peter. I hope the students will look after this internal garden near the library for me as well as all of the other gardens.
The P and C were more than generous with a present – a beautiful watercolour of Austi Beach. This will provide a wonderful memory of the school and my links with the P and C. Thank you so much. Even the artist is a well respected parent of the community.
After a talented skit by teachers and office staff that I loved, I was able to thank and say good bye to the many parents and students whom I had associated with or taught at some stage during my years at the school. A booklet of thanks from the students in the school was presented to me. This booklet was great fun to read and will be treasured by me.
Thank you to all the parents, students and teachers who came to the afternoon tea. Your cards, good wishes and gifts have left me with memories I will never forget.
Thanks so much.
Peter McInnes
