2007 SOUTHERN STARS
An Arena Spectacular
Musica
can you feel it?

Performances 31 August – 1 September

Wow ... I am still buzzing. I feel like a Dad who has just seen his little child grow up and do something spectacular ... and the reason I feel that way is because we have done the spectacular!

The effort that goes into this show is quite amazing, especially considering the commitment that comes from our staff. If this sort of show was done in the private sector, the overtime that they would get would be huge - but Ms Middleton, Mrs Nicholls, Ms Hobbs and Mrs Lynch give of their own time and energy out of love for seeing our students perform, providing them with experiences that will be with them for a life time.

Yet it is not only the staff who turn up for every performance who helped us create the show. Back at school, the rest of us have to re-jig timetables and class loads. Parents are set to work sewing costumes, there is a big financial commitment too and a rough calculation tells me that collectively, we would have travelled over 3400 kilometres to rehearsals and shows. This year’s Southern Stars was outstanding. Our choir and dancers were sensational. Please tell them how much you enjoyed their efforts for we should all celebrate their success; and they should be so very proud of their achievements.

Paul Petersen ...... A very proud Principal.

The choir started their rehearsals in the last week of Term 2, and they already sound magnificent!

Then our dancers had to learn their steps early in Term 3.

Then the big week arrived.......................................................
