What a marvellous day for Mrs Nicholls and Mrs Gleeson ... let alone the lucky students who got to go along to Taronga Zoo with them.

The K.O.A.L.A (Kids Own Australian Literature Awards) were held at Taronga Zoo. A group of children, accompanied by Mrs Gleeson and Mrs Nicholls were lucky enough to attend the ceremony. All the children at our school have participated in the program of nominating their favourite book and voting once the shortlist comes out. We sent our votes in on line and eagerly waited for 25th October to come so we could find out who the winners were.

“Chatterbox” by Margaret Wild & Deborah Niland won the Picture Book Category. “The cat on the mat is flat” by Andy Griffiths & Terry Denton won the Younger Reader. “Zombie Bums from Uranus” also by Andy Griffiths won the Older Reader.

We can’t remember who was inducted into the Hall of Fame, we were still celebrating our win!!!!

And look at what we were lucky enough to win!!!!!
